At ACC we believe Missions are important.
Here is a list of the Missionaries we support on a monthly basis:
Blackbox International
Blackbox International’s slogan is ‘The Story Must Change’. Established in 2010, they are a Christian organization, based in Joplin Mo., that exists to provide healing and purpose through holistic aftercare to sex trafficked boys ages 16 and under. Over 2 million children are trafficked worldwide each year. Conservative estimates say, of that number, over 400,000 are boys. Tragically, there is little or no help in the entire world for victimized boys. Blackbox International was created to change that. How can you help? Most of all they need PRAYERS. Pray for the boys, those rescued and those still being trafficked. Pray that they might soon see the Hope and Healing that Christ can give them. Pray for changed hearts of those that are driving this horrible industry across the world. Pray for Blackbox and those involved that they will allow God to lead, and for His wisdom to guide them to do His will. You can find Blackbox International on Facebook, X and visit their website to stay connected and informed.
Brazil Christian Mission
Founded in 1948, they have been preaching and teaching the gospel of the Restoration Movement, first beginning with Lloyd and Ruth Sanders, then in 1986 Starla and Luiz were added in Brasilia. In 1993 they moved to Recife, Pernambuco, to help children and to work with the needy families of the communities surrounding the city. In 2015 Bruno Moraes became the Executive Director, replacing Lloyd. He and his wife, Luciane have continued the goal of reaching the lost through the Men’s & Women’s Encounters while also strengthening the leadership of the churches and planting new ones. The vision is to equip men and women, restore lives, and families, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have expanded to Abreu e Lima, Maranguape, Olinda, Caruaru, Gravata and this year in Aldeia!
Cookson Hills
Since 1957, Cookson Hills has provided home, school, and therapy for kids who are at-risk. They are a children’s home in Northeast Oklahoma, serving kids ages 5-17 who want to write a better story for their lives and have experienced challenges with family life, homelessness, poor peer relationships, abuse, or neglect. Compelled by the love of Christ, their team works together to fulfill their vision – to raise up healthy individuals who are empowered to positively impact future generations. They are primarily funded by individuals, churches, and foundations who want to provide a hopeful future for kids who are at -risk. Through their generosity, Cookson Hills is able to provide care to every kid who qualifies. They will never go into debt, and they accept no government funding. This allows them to freely teach students about the life changing hope of Jesus.
Freedom Gates Boys Ranch
Most of the time when we think of mission work we think of overseas and in other countries. FGBR, however, is here in our own backyard! The FGBR was founded in 2014 by Dennis and Nancy Blake, just over in Hazleton, KS. In 2019, Michael and Ariel Simpson became house parents until March of 2020 when Michael became the Director of FGBR. Freedom Gates Boys Ranch is a home for kids from hard places. Our mission is to bring Living Hope through family living, Christ-centered education, therapy, and farm and ranch work. We provide all necessary services for our boys and their families, relying totally on God to supply our needs. We trust that He is a true and faithful Father who does not delay in keeping His promises. Our boys live at FGBR for 18 months up to adulthood, depending on their individual needs and those of their families. During this time, we guide them through the healing process of past hurts, train them to bear the weight of responsibility that comes with biblical manhood, and teach them that their true identity and value are found in Christ. Since we started supporting them we have seen multiple young boys give their lives to Jesus through baptism!
History Makers
Members of the History Makers family have been investing in the Kingdom of God in the city of Juarez, Mexico since 2007. After serving 10 years in a Juarez children’s home/orphanage, God called us to the outskirts of the city where children were living in far worse conditions but yet in families that remained together. Father God opened our eyes to the deeper need in the city for the Church to adopt entire families in order to prevent orphans and the perpetual need for the children’s homes that currently blanket the city. Since 2018, we have cultivated relationships with many families throughout the neighborhood of “Los Kilometros” - named after the kilometer markers of the highway leaving Juarez to go farther into Mexico. We established History Makers International in 2018 upon meeting these families who were the inspiration behind our mission to seek, heal, equip and raise up history makers for the Kingdom of God. The term “history maker” was inspired by John 14:12-14 where Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in My name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it!”
Kiamichi Mountain Christian Missions
Located in Honobia, Oklahoma, they were established in 1940. They have gone through several adaptions over the years as the culture and needs have changed. Their main goal at present is recruiting and training the next generation of Church Leaders especially Pastors, their wives, and missionaries. They accomplish this through camps, retreats, The Kiamichi Preaching and Teaching Clubs of America, and the Kiamichi School of Preaching and Teaching. The past 11 years the demographic for their Partner’s Retreat (Men’s Clinic) has changed from men with an average age of 75, to men, women, and children with an average age of 45. Ron went to their Men’s Clinic in the early 90’s and said it was similar to Promise Keepers but set in a beautiful, tranquil spot in the Kiamichi Mountains of SE Oklahoma. Arte Carnes is the director and has a passion for the future of the Independent Christian Church. “We have lost one-third of our churches in the past generation and many of our Bible Colleges due to lack of preaching candidates and preachers. We are turning that around.”
Manhattan Christian College
Manhattan Christian College, the Thunder was founded in 1927 and is in the Northern Flint Hill area of Kansas, where the rainstorms are plentiful. In Scripture, thunder also represents the voice and authority of God. Job 37:5 says, “God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding.” MCC’s academic programs are rooted in the bible and help students grow spiritually and intellectually. Thunder also represents the personal attributes of MCC’s alumni who serve and share about God’s greatness all over the world! Currently ACC has Tipton Francis who is earning a dual degree at MCC & K-State. Past alumni are Ed Preston and DeJay Vaughn.
Ozark Christian College
Located on a spacious 60-acre campus in the city of Joplin in southwest Missouri, Ozark Christian College is not far from Kansas City, Fayetteville, Branson, and Tulsa. Founded as Ozark Bible College in 1942, Ozark began with only 16 students. In 2024, Lincoln Christian Seminary transferred to OCC, becoming Lincoln Seminary at Ozark Christian College. Today, more than 15,000 students and 80 years later, OCC continues to train men and women for Christian service with undergraduate and graduate degrees. Over 90% of Ozark graduates enter vocational or volunteer ministry. Many of our ACC bible studies follow OCC’s Next Level free online bible studies. Ron Eden and Madison Kohen have both Graduated from OCC.
Prairie View Christian Camp
Prairie View Christian Camp. The camp association was first organized in 1967, the current property located just outside of Arkansas City was purchased in 1984, and its first weeks of camp were held in the summer of 1985. PVCC is run by director Phil Weece and his wife Karen, who have been there since 2013. The motto of PVCC is Relax, Refresh, and Renew. Since the camp opened we have been taking kids there every summer for church camp. PVCC is actually where Ron met DeJay and how DeJay got to Anthony. Our camp month is June, and if you have children, grandchildren, or know of someone who would enjoy camp or learning more about it contact DeJay!
Rwanda Challenge
Frank and Myra Reynolds spent over 35 years in ministry, including 30 years as a Senior Pastor for Manchester Christian Church, New Hampshire. During the this time they went to Rwanda with other church members for mission trips. The people of Rwanda were very dear to Frank and Myra, always holding a special place in their hearts. After retiring as Senior Pastor they began Rwanda Challenge helping to build churches and recruit pastors there. In 2018 a law was passed in Rwanda requiring churches to have a legal preacher in order to lawfully meet. Legal preachers must have an accredited Associates degree in Bible/Theology. Higher education degree programs in Rwanda must also be taught in English. Most preachers there are not proficient in English nor do they even have high school diplomas. Increased enforcement of this law has forced thousands of churches there to close. In 2020 they partnered with Mid-Atlantic University and Africa Hope Initiatives to offer accredited degrees and have had their first graduating class! They have many things they’re working on in 2025 including welcoming Scott McClimans as director allowing Frank to step into a support role. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” - 2 Timothy 2:15
Avant Ministries: Carson & Kara Hildebrand
Carson and DeJay went to school together at Manhattan Christian College, where they became great friends and where our connection to Avant came from. Kara grew up as a missionary kid, spending most of her youth and adolescence growing up in Uganda, so this mission work hits close to home for Kara. To tell you about what Carson and Kara do for Avant is something we never even realized was a need. They will travel to the Philippians where they will care for the children of missionaries. Most of the time we think about when a missionary goes somewhere they have their children with them, however that is not always the case. After visiting with the Hildebrands they told us that most of these kids they will be working with see their parents 1 or 2 times a year, some of these kids do not even know when they will see their parents next. They will partner with Faith Academy, a boarding school for M.K.’s. There Carson and Kara will take on the roll of respite parents, youth pastors and counselors.
